Arkham Horror LCG: Top 10 Base Survivor Cards

Wendy again, here to talk about my favorite Top 10 Level Zero Survivor cards. I love playing a Survivor and think they are the perfect mix of Seeker and Guardian class. Survivors can stand alone and have the added benefit of not only having “one job” like a Seeker or Guardian. The investigators have different strengths and their decks can easily be built to supplement where they fall short. What I really like about playing a Survivor is that they are useful early in the game and play consistently throughout. It is hard for a Survivor to be a knock it out of the park character, but with a well-built deck can investigate normal locations for clues and also fight regular enemies and be a reliable addition to any scenario.

10 – Perseverance

The Forgotten Age | Threads of Fate #111

Perseverance is a mid-price card that can be life-saving. This card, to me, can change the entire scenario when it is played.

9 – Scavenging

Core Set #13

Scavenging is awesome because it allows you to pull a card from your discard back into your hand. This card gives a second life to a good card.

8 – Rabbits Foot

Core Set #75

The beauty of a Survivor is that they can succeed even when they fail. Rabbits Foot allows you to draw a card after you fail a skill check. A good Survivor has a lot of card diversity in their hand at any time, and Rabbits Foot helps you achieve that.

7 – Lucky!

Core Set #80

Just like Rabbits Foot, Lucky! helps you succeed in failure by giving you a second chance at a skill check.

6 – Newspaper

The Dunwich Legacy | Essex County Express #155

Survivor cards not only can reward you for a test failure, they can also reward you for not having any clues or resources. Newspaper is exactly that: when you do not have any clues it gives you an extra investigate in a location.

5 – Fire Axe

The Dunwich Legacy #32

Fire Axe is well rounded, even by the well-rounded standard of the Survivor class. If you have no resources, Fire Axe empowers you to deal extra damage. If you have resources, you can spend one to deal that extra damage.

4 – Act of Desperation

The Circle Undone #37

Act of Desperation is a great way to leverage assets that are expired for an extra punch when fighting an enemy.

3 – Belly of the Beast

The Forgotten Age | Wages of Sin #160

Belly of the Beast is a great card to help you gather clues.

2 – Drawing Thin

The Forgotten Age | Wages of Sin #159

Resources are always important, but not as much for a Survivor since many cards benefit empty resource pools. That said, Drawing Thin lets you either grab a resource or a card. I normally use it to add a card because, again, card diversity is critical for well-rounded player like a Survivor.

1 – Survival Instinct

Core Set #81

Survival Instinct really shines in an enemy-heavy scenario, especially for Investigators with a high Agility (foot) value. Evading one enemy is cool, but have you ever evaded several at once? Amazing! This card does just that.
