Arkham Horror LCG: Top 10 Base Neutral Cards
Wendy here with another Top 10 list, this time looking at Level Zero Neutral cards. Neutral cards are awesome at supplementing your deck with items that your class does not necessarily have strengths in.
10 – Kukri
The Dunwich Legacy #36
Kukri is an awesome weapon that gives you an extra Combat (fist) and also includes an option to deal extra damage. For classes without a naturally high fist value, Kukri slides in and supplements the fist value.
9 – Unexpected Courage
Core Set #93
There are neutral cards that supplement every specific skill value, but I love Unexpected Courage because it is a general skill boost. It is low cost and will boost any skill check you encounter.
8 – Trench Coat
The Forgotten Age | Heart of the Elders #203
Trench Coat is more a scenario-specific Neutral card. It boosts your Agility (foot) skill but is higher cost so you will want to save it for a time when you need to escape enemies.
7 – Flashlight
Core Set #87
Who would say no to -2 shroud? Not even a Seeker would! This card makes collecting clues significantly easier for all investigators, especially for non-Seeker investigators.
6 – Fine Clothes
The Forgotten Age | Where Doom Awaits #272
Fine Clothes is a great low-cost skill check assistant.
5 – Knife
Core Set #86
Knife is a low cost asset that will buff your fist value, and buff it even more with discard. When you discard Knife, you get an extra fist and +1 damage when you discard the card, which really comes in clutch especially toward the end of the scenario.
4 – Thermos
The Forgotten Age | The Depths of Yoth #274
Thermos is a high cost card, but it heals damage and horror. A lot of cards heal one or the other so having the ability to choose is helpful.
3 – Lita Chantler
Core Set #117
Lita Chantler is one of my favorite allies in the entire game. She is tough, and that toughness is contagious since every investigator in your location get a fist boost +1 damage. Lita also can take a punch or two too since she can take 3 damage and 3 horror before she is done. The best part? Lita Chantler brings all this to table and costs zero resources to bring into your hand.
2 – Backpack
The Forgotten Age #37
Backpack is a great general use Neutral card because it allows you to carry extra items and supplies.
1 – Emergency Cache
Core Set #88
Emergency Cache sits at the top of list because who does not like a resource grab? We have to negotiate the distribution of Emergency Cache when we start because we all three reach for it. Added bonus: the upgraded version of this card is even better!
