Arkham Horror LCG: Top 10 Base Guardian Cards

Wendy here, bringing you another Arkham Horror deck list. Today I am sharing my Top 10 Level Zero Guardian Cards. I love playing the Guardian class, mostly because my favorite parts of games are weapons and bulldozing enemies. This is basically the one job for a Guardian and I am here for that.

10 – Evidence

Core Set #22

Clue collection is not a strength for Guardians and is best left to the Seeker. That said, Evidence empowers your character to collect some clues, which is helpful when there are not enemies to fight but clues to collect.

9 – Something Worth Fighting For

The Circle Undone | The Secret Name #109

This is a high cost card, but it is super helpful for horror avoidance and can provide a little healing as well. I always want this card in my hand but save it for later in the scenario. This card can truly keep you from dying during your scenario.

8 – Emergency Aid

The Dunwich Legacy | Miskatonic Museum #105

Who doesn’t love a good healing card? What I love most about this card is that it allows you to heal an investigator or an ally. A lot of times we use our allies simply as cannon fodder, and the ability to heal them and prolong their absorption of your damage is awesome.

7 – Vicious Blow

Core Set #25

Sometimes you just want to hit an enemy and let them know you mean it. That is where Vicious Blow really shines because it allows you to deal extra damage for free.

6 – Guard Dog

Core Set #21

We all know that a dogs are man’s best friend. Guard Dog is no different! He is an awesome ally that bites back with retaliate when he takes damage. Pairing Guard Dog with Emergency Aid is a perfect combo. Head scratches for this best boy.

5 – Survival Knife

The Forgotten Age #17

Survival Knife is a Guardian’s dream card. Not only does it give you an extra hard punch, it also serves up relation with +2 Attack (fist) and +1 damage. Amazing!

4 – Beat Cop

Core Set #18

Beat Cop is a high cost card to play, but he makes a pretty good ally. He has a high damage and horror value and also provides the Guardian with extra fist, which is nice when you are battling Elite enemies.

3 – Machete

Core Set #20

Machete is a high cost asset, but it packs a pretty good punch with an extra fist and +1 damage. Keeping in mind that a Guardian’s main job is to deal damage, this is a dream weapon.

2 – Bandolier

The Dunwich Legacy | Essex County Express #147

Bandolier is a medium cost card that gives you an extra weapon slot in your hands. The ability to hold three weapons (or two if one is big enough to take both hands) is a Guardian’s dream come true. Even if this card was high cost, it would be worth it. The earlier Bandolier comes out, the better.

1 – Dynamite Blast

Core Set #24

Dynamite Blast may be my favorite Arkham Horror card behind Dr. Milan Christopher. It deals hella damage to everyone but it is not considered a weapon. Beware of using this card in a location where you have fellow investigators because the damage is also dealt to them. Is this card expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? Heck yes. If you are playing Carolyn Fern, keep this card in your deck and always save resources for it because this is the best Guardian card she can have in her deck.
